Biography
Renowned Australian composer and opera singer David Hobson had his sights set on a career as an economist or lawyer, but the Ballarat native's plans were thwarted by the intervention of the Victoria State Opera. Hobson made his operatic debut as Rodolfo in +La Bohéme in 1987, became a company member of the Australian Opera, and was awarded the Dame Joan Sutherland Scholarship the following year.
