Michael E. Johnson, a native of Shreveport, LA, Vietnam vet and former drug addict, fronts the Austin, TX-based traditional reggae band the Killer Bees. In 1987, they were the first American act to perform at Reggae Sunsplash in Montego Bay. The band's debut, Groovin', was followed by a cassette-only release on ROIR, Live in Berlin (1989).
