The ever-busy Soderbergh, who is currently working on The Informant with Matt Damon as well as a Spanish language biopic of revolutionary Che Guevara, will begin work on The Girlfriend Experience in the Fall. The film is scheduled to be shot in just two weeks.
Soderbergh and the film's writers want the script to have an air of authenticity, so they interviewed numerous high-priced hookers in their research, exploring the more intimate relationships between prostitutes and rich men seeking companionship; apparently, this film isn't about picking up a prostitute on a street corner, but about the men who seek the services of high-class call girls. Rumor has it that Soderbergh may cast an unknown or an adult film star in the lead role.
