Tobey Maguire may be trading in his red and blue Spider-Man tights in favor of a power suit. The actor is attached to play a lawyer in Universal's The Crusaders, a drama about the landmark 1954 Brown v. Board of Education lawsuit which put an end to public school segregation.
Maguire would play civil rights attorney Jack Greenberg, the hotshot legal eagle who argued the case before the Supreme Court. Maguire will also executive produce the film, which is based on Greenberg's memoir, Crusaders in the Courts. The script is currently being written, with Gary Ross onboard to direct. Ross and Maguire have teamed up previously to critical success on the films Seabiscuit and Pleasantville.
