Lou Adler, an executive producer of the original Rocky Horror Picture Show, has partnered with BermanBraun and Fox Television Studios to relaunch the 1975 film on MTV. The updated two-hour version will be based on a screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien, and may feature new music. A director and cast has not been named as of yet. Neither has a start date for production, but Adler told Variety he'd like to have it shown on MTV a year from this Halloween.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show has pulled in $140 million over the years, a tally that's largely pegged to midnight screenings of the cult classic.
