Each of the entries in the multi-volume Street Vibes series of double-disc collections highlights scores of urban hits, everything from hip-hop and contemporary R&B to teen pop and dance-pop. Since the series is of British origin, there's not as much hip-hop as you might expect, and quite a few 2-step tracks that those not from the U.K. might not be familiar with. Because these songs come from a range of years (most being released sometime between 1997 and 2000) rather than from one year, the album thankfully plays more like a DJ mix than a year-end best-of collection. Some of the more noteworthy songs here include Pink's "There You Go," Destiny's Child's "Say My Name," Craig David's "Fill Me In," TLC's "No Scrubs," Jennifer Lopez's "Waiting for Tonight," the B15 Project's "Girls Like Us," and Christina Aguilera's "What a Girl Wants." ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
