    All Music Guide Review

In keeping with the rest of the Martha Stewart Living series, Home for the Holidays: Songs to Get You in the Spirit presents 14 impeccably tasteful old and new holiday favorites, but also adds a refreshing dash of eclecticism. Usual suspects like Eartha Kitt's "Santa Baby," Judy Garland's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," and Bing Crosby and David Bowie's "Little Drummer Boy" mix with more contemporary and offbeat choices, such as the Pretenders' "2000 Miles," Jane Siberry's "Are You Burning, Little Candle?," and Greg Lake's "I Believe in Father Christmas." Emmylou Harris' earthy "The First Noel," Melissa Manchester's smoky "White Christmas," and Loreena McKennitt's "Good King Wenceslas" are some of the other highlights of this gently festive collection, which isn't too tasteful to spread good cheer. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
