    All Music Guide Review

Madonna's label Maverick became involved in Latin music with the release of Platinum Rhythm through WEA International, debuting with a compilation of remixes performed by major numbers in the Spanish-language scene, an up-tempo version of her hit "Music," mixed by Robbie Rivera, Pablo Flores' remake of "The One" by Backstreet Boys, and teen-pop stars 'N Sync singing a romantic ballad, "Te Voy A Amar," in Spanish . This 14-track record opens with a Thunderpuss remix of Enrique Iglesias' "Be With You" followed by dance/pop "When I Get Close to You" by Jocelyn Enríquez, a mid-tempo "You Sang to Me" by Marc Anthony, and a tango meets dance/pop Spanglish version of Debelah Morgan's "Dance With Me." Brazilian Bebel Gilberto delivers a seductive bossa nova titled "Sem Contecao," while José Padilla brings alternative Latin pop/rock with "Adios Ayer." ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
