    All Music Guide Review

Lakeshore's The 4 A.M. Sound of Progressive Trance, presented by DJ and producer Jay Ell, rolls through tracks provided by Voyager ("Derangement of the Senses"), Tone Depth ("Opera Cafe"), Steve Porter ("Innerpulse"), Medway ("Fluid Intelligence"), Minders ("Captured" and two others), the Future Sound of London ("Papua New Guinea"), and Pob & Taylor ("Today"). As many clubbers can attest, 4 a.m. is often when a DJ mix as at its most heated, and this is no exception -- it's hardly chill-out fodder designed to foster relaxation. This mix doesn't fit in the upper tier of progressive trance mixes, but it'll be a treat for those who are familiar with Ell's sets. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
