    Featuring 20 songs from 1975 to 1985, Gold in California, Vol. 1 & 2: A Retrospective of Recordings 1975-1985 is the definitive Kate Wolf retrospective, compiled by the singer herself shortly before her death. For most listeners, it will serve as the Kate Wolf album to own, assembling the best of her somewhat similar albums in one place (and for those who want more, Rhino has reissued her entire catalog). Every one of these titles was previously released, with the exception of a version of Alice Stuart's "Full Time Woman." This is identical to the initial Kaleidoscope release of the album, though the Rhino CD adds an unnecessarily confusing "Vol. 1 & 2" to the title. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
