A nice 15-track, 70-minute compilation that accumulates tracks from the '70s and '80s (with the odd inclusion from 1991), with an emphasis on Tara, Gael Linn and Mulligan, three Irish labels that have had a hand in the re-emergence of Irish music. The styles included here cover quite a range, from the traditional to the revised traditional (a la Clannad's first album) to such entertaining examples as Bill Whelan's world-music take on "The Ballymun Regatta." Overall, Celtic Graces is a fairly low-key colelction, but it does act as an excellent introduction to modern Irish music. ~ Steven McDonald, All Music Guide
