    Live From the Americas

    01/01/1994 | Crystal Clear Sound

    All Music Guide Review

Live From the Americas captures Jackopierce at their peak popularity. The album, recorded at Trees in Dallas, TX, offers 11 passionate songs, including five from their first two independent albums, two from their upcoming major-label debut, and four new songs, including the fan favorite "Mexican Tune." Live From the Americas is very well-recorded and places emphasis on the group's vocals and stark arrangements. Jackopierce's only live album preserves their popular acoustic phase, which evolved into a full-band sound with 1994's A&M debut, Bringing on the Weather, and an electric band sound with 1997's Finest Hour. Highlights include "Vineyard," "Be Nice to Me," and "Mexican Tune." Live From the Americas is a surprisingly good first introduction to the band, which is rare for a live album. A must-own for Jackopierce fans. ~ JT Griffith, All Music Guide
