    All Music Guide Review

A well-chosen selection from the band's first two albums, and a good inexpensive way for fans to sample the band's roots in bluesy psychedelia. Michael Heatley's liner notes are a little hampered by the band's inability to remember much about their recording or composing process in that happy era -- perhaps not an uncommon problem for archivists of psychedelia. But Heatley does give plenty of entertaining anecdotes about the band's many pressing and production run-ins with horrified staff at their record label, such as the when "obscene" title of "Spunk Box" had to be changed to apparently less obscene "Spunk Rock"; similarly, "Shit On the World" was reluctantly altered to "It Is As It Must Be." ~ Paul Collins, All Music Guide
