    All Music Guide Review

Can't blame you if you're cautious about a collection that claims to contain "the ultimate chillout" and is already up to volume five, but you can't beat Nettwerk's licensing muscle and their taste ain't bad either. Cinematic Orchestra's "All That You Give" is prime chill with a stately sound and the Flaming Lips and Radiohead tracks are atmospheric rock of the highest order. Luckily, the lesser-known tracks are also excellent. Norah Jones and Wax Poetic's "Angels" is wonderful -- presented here in one of the best Thievery Corporation remixes ever -- and Andain's cinematic "You Once Told Me" will do till the next Massive Attack record appears. Given all the fresh sounds, the Sarah McLachlan and Delerium tracks sound tired and like they're just spinning their wheels. Like the other volumes, Nettwerk's definition of chill might not match yours. Hectic tracks like Bonobo's and Starsailor's hardly carry you off to dreamland. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
