As the title suggests, It Takes Two is a collection of R&B duets, including a whopping 40 tracks (though "If You Don't Know Me by Know," by Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes, "Midnight Train to Georgia," by Gladys Knight & the Pips, and "Kiss" by Tom Jones and The Art Of Noise fudge the concept a bit). The many pairings of music superstars makes It Takes Two that much more interesting. The pleasant surprises include "Relight My Fire," by Lulu & Take That, one of Ian Levine's best compositions. Mica Paris pairs with Will Downing and delivers a powerful rendition of "Where Is The Love." Traditional pairings include the classics "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling," by the Righteous Brothers, "Every Time You Go Away," by Hall & Oates, and "I Got You Babe," by Sonny and Cher, which seems out-of-place on this collection. Odd ball match-ups include "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," by George Michael & Elton John, "Easy Lover," by Phil Collins & Phillip Bailey, "There's Nothing Better Than Love," by Luther Vandross & Gregory Hines, and "Don't Know Much," by Linda Ronstadt & Aaron Neville. Pricey, but excellent for them cozy winter nights with that special person. ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide
