    All Music Guide Review

PolyGram Special Markets' 45's on CD, Vol. 2 (1964-1965) is a collection of ten pop singles from the PolyGram vaults that were hits during those two years. The disc boasts a nice balance of familiar hits and forgotten tunes, featuring such songs as Lesley Gore's "You Don't Own Me," Roger Miller's "King of the Road," the Shangri-Las' "I Can Never Go Home Anymore," the Gentrys' "Keep on Dancing," the Fortunes' "You've Got Your Troubles," We Five's "You Were on My Mind," Sam the Sham & the Pharoahs' "Wooly Bully," Wayne Fontana & the Mindbenders' "The Game of Love," the Hondells' "Little Honda" and, of all things, the Beatles' pre-EMI recording of "Ain't She Sweet." It's a nice, varied selection that's not always seen on a budget-priced disc, making it worthwhile for casual fans on a tight budget. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
