Although Peter Eldridge is a co-founder of the New York Voices and is often heard in jazz settings, this outing by the singer-educator is largely outside of jazz. Some of the songs (all of which were written by Eldridge with one being co-written) sound as if they could have been composed by Lennon and McCartney. In general, the atmospheric music consists of originals that are strongly influenced by '60s and '70s pop. Eldridge sometimes utilizes background vocalists although the backup musicians do not have much of an opportunity to show off any individuality. The emphasis is on Peter Eldridge's voice and his songs, making this a project of greatest interest to fans of singer/songwriters. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
