Since 1992, Willie Clayton has recorded a steady stream of excellent albums comprising Southern soul, R&B, and blues. Something to Talk About, while less essential than previous efforts, continues the amazing string. The 14 songs here are mostly originals -- quite different from previous releases, where his engaging tenor enhanced a slew of remakes. Laid-back but effective, the standouts include "Mine All Mine," "One Last Kiss," "Are You Married," the title track, and "Heart of the City," though you won't be unhappy with any of these. ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide
