    All Music Guide Review

Here's one of those compilations that feature unreleased live performances by some of your favorites, but not all of them. And the question is, do you buy the disc for those one or two essential tracks or bypass the whole deal because you don't want to have to get up and skip some of the tracks you know you'll end up hating? Well, if you like one of these performers, recorded in on-air performances for KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic show in Santa Monica, CA, you'll like the lion's share of the batch. Soul Coughing lays down a relaxed but groovy "Disseminated," and Randy Newman is resplendent with "Louisiana 1927," and there's a rare Tom Waits tune, "The Fall of Troy." In the end, you should look at the track list and make your own judgment call. ~ Tim Sheridan, All Music Guide
