EMI's 13-track Talking Heads Collection is the epitome of budget, relying on live versions of hits like "Burning Down the House" and "Psycho Killer" and unfamiliar album cuts to attract potential listeners. As far as studio versions of fan favorites go, "Radio Head" and "Love for Sale" from True Stories are solid, as is 1985's "Road to Nowhere," but the lack of important singles such as "And She Was," "Wild Wild Life," "Once in a Lifetime," and "Heaven" make this Collection a dud. Fans should pick up Popular Favorites 1976-1992: Sand in the Vaseline, Best of Talking Heads: Once in a Lifetime or 2004's Best of Talking Heads instead. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
