Breach fits squarely within the parameters of the thriller score but manages to sidestep its most tired clichés -- Mychael Danna largely eschews de rigueur electronic rhythms and textures in favor of simple piano melodies, sinister strings, and atmospheric woodwinds that nevertheless convey the necessary tension. In fact, Danna's minimalist, Philip Glass-inspired approach derives suspense from the absence of familiar genre tropes -- its cerebral intensity keeps the listener off balance even once the unexpected becomes expected. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
