Joel Whitburn Presents: Top Pop Treasures is an excellent series spotlighting original hits from a specific year by the artists who made them famous. This volume samples ten tracks from 1962, including such classics as "Beachwood 4-5789" (the Marvelettes), "Surfin' Safari" (the Beach Boys), and "Shadrack" (Brook Benton), in addition to strong tracks by Sue Thompson, Duane Eddy, and Jerry Butler.
