Country Great is essentially a retitled re-release of Patsy Cline's eponymous first album for Decca. Working with Owen Bradley, Cline tackles a number of different styles, from straight-ahead country to swinging blues, dazzling at each step of the way. There may not be any huge hits that jump out to the casual listener, but discerning fans will realize that any album containing "That Wonderful Someone," "Too Many Secrets," "Then You'll Know" and "Three Cigarettes (In an Ashtray)" is essential listening. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
