End of the Millennium consolidates the crushing strengths of Swedish hardcore punk revivalists 59 Times the Pain's debut, displaying a musical attack that proves the band worthy of naming itself after a Husker Du song. While the criticisms might be leveled that the band doesn't really offer anything new and often falls prey to writing hookless chants instead of melodies, their appeal to punk hardliners is without question, and their intensity often rivals that of Black Flag (albeit without Greg Ginn's atonal jazz influences). Still, a few more memorable choruses would provide a significant listenability upgrade. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
