After a rash of disappointing releases (excluding O.G.C.) it is now time for the BCC's elder statesman to momentarily step aside and let some new blood attempt to plug their ever-widening holes. Debuts have always been DuckDown's strong point, and it is the Brownsville duo of Supreme & Lidu Rock (Rock of Heltah Skeltah's little brother) who are next in line to carry on that tradition. The Reps take a step in the right direction production wise, moving away from the camp's decomposing griminess for a more subtle organic sound (isolated guitar riffs, mandolins, streaming pianos). While the Reps' debut contains no immediate concept, the duo is much more engaging when they're broadening their anticipated topic matter, as on "The Ritch" (Tek), "Tell Me," and "Stand or Fall." ~ Matt Conaway, All Music Guide
