Lullabies for Little Dreamers: Soft Rock Classics From Your Favorite Stars delivers just what the title suggests: pretty, restful tunes like James Taylor's "Sweet Baby James," Fleetwood Mac's "Songbird," and Don McLean's "Wonderful Baby." Emmylou Harris' version of "Mr. Sandman," Mama Cass Elliot's "Dream a Little Dream of Me," and Carly Simon's "Julie Through the Glass" are some of the album's other highlights. Though Aretha Franklin and Manhattan Transfer aren't usually associated with soft rock, Franklin's "First Snow in Kokomo" and the Transfer's "Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square" are so delicate and lullaby-ready that they fit in perfectly. Hall & Oates' "Waterwheel" and the Carpenters' "Crystal Lullaby" complete this sweet, creative collection of bedtime tunes by some of pop's biggest names. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
